Aptitude started in 2021 as a reaction to a specific exhaustion. We had spent years inside studios that optimised for the launch weekend — designs that photographed well on Instagram and collapsed three months later. We were tired.
So we started a studio that treats every brief as a discipline problem. What is this thing supposed to become? What does it have to survive? If the answer is "a feature we're shipping next quarter," we refer the brief elsewhere.
Five years on, we've worked with independent publishers, type foundries, record labels, coffee chains, cultural institutions, and a few tech companies that still understood taste. We have shipped forty-seven projects. We have missed two deadlines. We will not tell you which.
If the work doesn't intend to last, it isn't finished.
